| 2008-01-23 - PADDOCK TIME! It was Sunday morning at the Florida Winter Tour, the wind was blowing, the temperature was a bit cool (for Florida, mind you), and there were a few rain cells moving in from time to time. I tossed on a rain jacket, stepped from the snug warmth of the Homestead Karting Timing/Scoring booth and into the maelstrom of mother nature in all her mediocre wrath. Strong gusts of wind, some heavy rain followed by sprinkles, this wasn’t so bad. I was still wearing shorts, after all, and it was clear that the 175 karters who were on hand for this event weren’t worried about the weather either. They were here to race. Read more |

| 2008-01-16 - WHO ARE THOSE GUYS? by Jeff Franz / KartSport Understand, most people would jump at the chance to go to Florida in the winter time. The promise of cold drinks and warm weather would be enough as it is, but for karters throughout the U.S., Canada, and throughout central and South America, the siren’s call of the Florida Winter Tour is generally too much to resist. Tight racing, huge fields, more pretty Mini Max moms than you can shake a zip tie at, and the aforementioned drink/weather combination and like moths to the lamp they come. Read more |
