Homestead, FL – Rounds 3&4 of the 2009 Florida Winter Tour presented by TonyKart Florida is now in the books after a thrilling weekend at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. The action on track was wild and many races went down to the wire. Alex Speed scored three wins on the weekend and Nick Neri finally won in KF3 action. After the Rotax classes broke in the new surface last weekend, the Formula Kart classes laid down the rubber aboard their sticky MG tires.

2009-02-20 - Formula Kart rounds 3 & 4 Preview
Homestead, FL – Pre-Entries up in every class for Formula Kart weekend Returning to the Homestead Karting facility for the final time in 2009, the Formula Kart classes invade the karting circuit outside the Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend. The freshly paved track received rave reviews during the Rotax weekend and will again be raced in the clockwise direction for the Formula Kart classes. Only a few drivers were able to take home two wins in January, and the points races are heating up. On Tuesday this week, IndyCar driver Tony Kanaan was spotted testing a kart at Homestead. Rumor has it he could be entering this weekends events.

Rounds 3&4 of the 2009 Formula Kart Productions Florida Winter Tour, presented by TonyKart Florida, are officially in the books after an exciting weekend at the Homestead Karting facility. Nearly 200 karters returned to the freshly paved circuit to do battle for FWT supremacy. The clockwise track provided new obstacles for drivers, but received great reviews by the weekend’s completion.

A live timing and scoring feed, along with a viewer-interactive live text blog, combined to create the most dynamic media coverage in North American karting. In August I published the TENTATIVE FWT Classes, with a stipulation that all classes will have a minimum requirement of 12 paid entries by December 1st. 2008-12-01 - TEAM FWT / 2008 RMCGF SUMMARY
I have finally found a reasonably reliable internet connection. I’m sure you have all seen the results, and I’m proud to say that I have played a small role in getting three very talented drivers to this event, achieving a very good result for a driver from the United States, and providing Brazil it’s first official RMCGF participation. I wish that circumstances would have allowed Phil De La O to show us the potential his time and efforts deserved. But that is for the future.
