Two Junior Rotax competitors displayed a custom FWT/Ferrari graphics package at the opening rounds of the 2010 Florida Winter Tour Rotax Max Challenge. Canadian Marc-Antoine Cardin and Floridian Jesus Rios Jr were both awarded FWT participation scholarships from FWT and Ferrari Driving Experience.

Ferrari_Award_Marc_Cardin_smallAnnounced in November, the FWT/Ferrari Scholarship search was originally a single scholarship providing support* for one driver at six rounds of the 2010 FWT. However, after an amazing response Ferrari Driving Experience Marketing Director Paul Montopoli doubled the Scholarship awards. “Based on the depth and diversity of applications received for the FWT/Ferrari Driving Experience scholarship, it was decided that scholarships would be awarded in two categories – Experienced and Rookie” stated Montopoli. “Experience was based on the competitors prior participation in the FWT and/or National level kart racing. Applicants were segmented into these respective groups and assessed based on the strength of their racing resume and submitted essays.”

In the Rookie category, the selection process was equally difficult. However, on the strength of strong results in his local racing series and a commitment to overcome obstacles to fulfill his racing ambitions, Marc Cardin was awarded the second scholarship award.”

The 2010 FWT/Ferrari Scholarship Search was open to any FWT RMC or FWT Formula Kart competitor 12 years or older competing in a Junior level or higher class. Scholarship candidates submitted their racing resumes and a 300 word essay explaining why they should receive the scholarship and how it would affect their racing program. The scholarship recipients will be awarded entry fee, driver pit pass, one set of tires and one liter of oil for each of the six rounds of the 2010 FWT, and one custom FWT/Ferrari Driving Experience graphics package for their kart.

FWT and the Ferrari Driving Experience congratulate the scholarship winners and wish them well in the 2010 FWT season.
