More great racing action at the Orlando Kart Center for round two

With a successful round one in the books for the 2015 Cold Stone Florida Winter Tour Powered by MAXSpeed Entertainment, ROK Cup USA drivers would head to the Orlando Kart Center in central Florida this past weekend. While cooler weather greeted drivers at the beginning of the weekend, by the end of the event, that famous Florida sunshine was again beating down.  Over 150 competitors took to the track for races three and four of the ROK Cup USA program presented by MG Tires, and again great racing, famous names and a welcoming atmosphere made for another successful event.

“We can’t thank all the competitors who have chosen to race the Cold Stone Florida Winter Tour enough,” expressed MAXSpeed Entertainment’s Garett Potter. “We work hard to put on the best events around, but not as hard as our racers and teams do, and we can always count on them to deliver in terms of excitement and great racing action.  The point battles have now taken shape, and everyone can’t wait to see what the final round has in store.”

366 drivers over two event weekends to kick off 2015 Cold Stone Florida Winter Tour Powered by MAXSpeed Entertainment

With MAXSpeed Entertainment taking over the reigns of the Florida Winter Tour in July of 2014, the experienced staff would immediately spring into action to ensure success at their first set of events only five short months on the horizon. Fast-forward to today, the first two rounds of both the ROK Cup USA presented by MG Tires and Rotax MAX Challenge presented by Chase Racing & Brash Racing programs are now complete, with positive vibes for the series leaving the Homestead Karting facility.

“It was a great way to kick off the series,” explained MAXSpeed Entertainment’s Garett Potter. “We polled several of the industry members and teams that competed in the series in the past and listened to their positives and negatives of previous editions of the tour. Looking to turn those negatives into positives and create a healthy and competitive atmosphere for all, I feel we did just that and everyone at MAXSpeed is looking forward to the rest of the campaign.”

Big names, large grids and perfect weather in Homestead for inaugural ROK Cup USA weekend

In the very south of the state of Florida, MAXSpeed Entertainment kicked off their first event as the new owners of the Florida Winter Tour on January 17-18, 2015. Hosting round one of the new Cold Stone Florida Winter Tour Powered by MAXSpeed Entertainment ROK Cup USA weekend presented by MG Tires at Homestead Karting, set in the shadow of the Homestead-Miami Speedway, over 150 racers from around the world competed in seven different categories. The event featured an all-star lineup of drivers in the headline ROK Shifter class that included former Formula 1 drivers Rubens Barrichello and Nelson Piquet Jr. along with an excellent turnout of drivers in the remaining six categories.

Under sunny skies and near perfect weather, the event ran smooth from start to finish. The challenging permanent circuit on the parking lot grounds of the Homestead facility pushes drivers to their limits and provides excellent racing for those watching trackside and online.
